Sweet Soul Gospel Revue - Artists - Singers

Tess D. Smith - Lead Vocal

"Lady Dynamite” – with a her own spirit and charm she twirls as Tina Turner across the stage. Tess D. Smith, born in the Philippines, started her career as a dancer and choreographer on Philippine TV. This is where this “little dancing typhoon” was discovered by The Commodores for their "Nightshift-Asia-Tour". Tess worked for Cindy Lauper and Kenny Loggins, and subsequently toured throughout the U.S., starring in musicals, variety shows and as a dancer in Las Vegas.

Since then, soul and love have brought her to Germany. With her own Tina Turner Tribute Show she tours across Europe.

Klaus Gassmann - Executive Producer, Management

Klaus Gassmann was bitten by the soul bug in the mid-1960s, after attending a Wilson Pickett concert in Frankfurt. It turned out to be a key moment in his life and he went on to start his first soul band that for the next few years toured the American club scene in South-West Germany. Klaus, as saxophonist and guitarist, thus experienced the heyday of 60s soul.

However, even as an original ‘soul man’ he didn’t at this point turn his passion into a job. While pursuing a career in software development, he remained true to his hobby for 50 years. His band Soulfinger achieved cult status in all things 60s soul, attracting attention well beyond its native Rhine-Neckar region.

After retiring from his day job did he realise his long-term dream of producing an international soul show. March 2009 saw the first Sweet Soul Music Revue, a format that has gone on to great things - followed by more shows.
